This is the house that is getting emptier.....

and I am so excited!  I have chills as a read previous posts about God being bigger than geography and I know He has a plan.  How blessed we are to witness His hand in our lives!  We are no longer moving north, we're headed east.  We are going back to where we came from (most recently, anyway).  We had our house there sold, but the buyers backed out of the contract about 3 weeks before we found out we were going back.  God is so good!  So, we have a house and a job, what more could a girl ask for?

Ahem.....

I promise we really are moving.  How many times have I said this to the kids this week?  Entirely too many!!  The date is changing and I am less than happy, so much is changing and so fast.....the house we had planned to move to burned to the ground on the 16th of March.  I am so thankful no one was hurt, the owner had just got all of his family's belongings out so the only loss was the house.  That's big enough, but certainly better than losing what could have been lost!  I am so grateful we didn't take a load and leave it in the garage.  So now we're in scramble mode.  His will be done.

This is the house that is full of boxes.....

and it's getting a little crazy!  We've got the trailer in the driveway half way loaded and we're still not sure about the move date.  It's all good though.  We're mostly ready, just waiting for final details.  The entire house is packed with the exception of clothes, bathrooms and minimal kitchen stuff.  We are down to 6 plates, 6 bowls......you know the routine, leave as little out as possible and it has been freeing to only have to keep up with such a small amount of belongings.  Maybe a lesson in there:)  God has truly been granting peace through the process.....I tend to be a little *cough cough* controlling, yet all I feel lately is His peace.  We have a house to move to, amazing really in this market since not many people are willing to rent and that is good enough for today.

Have you ever had one of those days?

I'm actually referring to one of those days where God just shows up in the littlest ways and reminds you that you're His?  Some days I am so consumed with being a mom and wife that I forget I am His......not really forget but you know what I man.  Isaiah 43:1 says "But now, this is what the LORD says—he who created you, Jacob,  he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;  I have summoned you by name; you are mine."  Do I really live every day, every moment with that in mind?  I wish my answer was yes.  Sadly I am human, faults and all.

Another week complete

This was the week with Valentine's Day.  Since we started homeschooling (4 years ago this week), I'm sure the kids have missed the school parties.  This year our next door neighbor has been gracious enough to include us in her family parties.  All of her grandkids are home schooled so it's been fun to participate.  Monday night we had great fun, lots of candy and got to exchange Valentine's!  Great fun, as well as a great sugar high was had by all!!

I am so thankful for our 4 day school week.  Most of this school year we have done 5 days of work in 4 days and used Friday for our field trips, family days or just to catch up on stuff at home.  This has really freed us up to enjoy a long weekend but still get done what needs to!  This week we finished up Landmark book of History by talking about the first men landing on the moon.  It was funny to tell the kids that Chris has a newspaper from that day too!  So as much as I give him a hard time about what he holds onto, this one paid off!

So to wrap up, this is the week in which we started packing.  School in the morning and early afternoon, packing in the afternoon.  Our last move was very quick, we found out one Friday and we were completely moved the following Friday, so I'm trying to be more intentional with what we move and make sure it is something we really want to move.  Most days it is slow going through all the stuff junk but I hope it will pay off and we'll be loading and unloading less boxes!  Now I really need to get out there and take some pictures to go along with these blog posts, so until then.......

Hello blog world!

School is going well, shhhhh though I don't want the kids to hear that!  We are almost done with our current Sonlight Core and can't wait to dive into Mystery of History!  Moving right along with everything else though. Two of the 4 kids are about a week away from finishing their math so I've ordered the next book.  Should be here Thursday, love seeing the UPS truck pull up outside ;-).  Oh and we got new Spelling curriculum today since what we had (Spelling Workout) wasn't working.  Tomorrow we'll start Spelling Power, which is reviewed as being the only Spelling curriculum you need for 2nd Grade on up.  So we shall see how that goes....... Here is a picture of Sarah doing her math today, won't catch her sitting at a desk :)

On the home front we are very excited to announce.....WE ARE MOVING!!!! We are super excited about the opportunity, although it will take us about 3 hours North of here and further from family.  God is bigger than geography and we can definitely feel His presence through every step of this process.  I'll have to wait to share the details but please know that we would greatly appreciate any prayers for a smooth transition and uneventful move.
